Akershus University Hospital (Akershus Universitetssykehus) is one of the most modern hospital in Europe.

The waste handling system has double cyclones to handle one residual fraction and a whole separate pipe system and separator for linen.

The linen separator opens and drops the linen on an open conveyor belt which transports the linen directly to the laundry.

Each inlet door has a separate keypad with possibility to have a separate code, both linen and the residual fraction. Each cyclone, for the residual fraction, has a automated guillotine system.

The waste handling system is supervised of a SCADA system. SCADA is a computer system with an easy user interface and many possibilities such as overview and handling through a web solution.
