Arnhem is the second town in the Netherlands, after Almere, that choose a vacuum waste system from Envac to collect waste.
The project is delayed because of the financial recession. The plan to build apartments in the area have been closed for the moment. So only commercial waste is collected by the vacuum waste system.
The most important users are:
- Pathé (a big cinema 1,750 seats)
- McDonalds (the first connection in the Netherlands)
- Health insurance company with 1,200 employees
- Two office towers
The inlets at the railway station, the Pathé and McDonalds has a special function for cardboards, a resizer, that tear them into smaller pieces before they enter the system.
The project is completed for more ore less 60% (Sep, 2015)
