Essinge Udde is a residential area on a small island in Stockholm City. The island used to house the global head quarters of Electrolux. The old brick buildings that once housed the factory have been restored and gives the area a certain charm.
The challenge on Essinge Udde was the very limited space for vehicle movement. That problem has been solved with a mobile vacuum system.
Every building in the area has it's own waste storage tank underground, and the tanks are connected to docking points located on the very outskirts of the residential area by a main road. No collection trucks have to move on the narrow streets.
