Project status

Fagereng is the first area in Tromsø to get a vacuum system and the main reason for choosing the system was to minimize traffic and the emissions in the area.

A mobile vacuum system collects the household waste and helps reducing traffic with heavy vehicles.

This system handles three different types of waste, sorted in different coloured bags. The bags are disposed off in the same storage tank and collected all together, but once they have been collected they are transported to an optical sorting plant, and separated. Waste separation is easy and comfortable for the resident of Fagereng.

There are 16 inlets, 9 tanks and 2 dockingpoints in the area.

The optical sorting plant was delivered by Envac Optibag AB in Sweden.
