Not long ago the main industry of Gothenburg was ship-building and shipping. Lindholmen is one of the areas of the former ship-building yard Eriksberg.

Since the early 90-ies the whole area is being transformed into a modern residential area and business park.

From day one, the waste handling has been done with an automated collection system from Envac.

Lindholmen hosts some of the more well-known Swedish corporations as well as Chalmers University of Technology.

The Envac system collects waste from 9 offices (with 400 to 3,000 people per each) and 675 apartments.

As the transformation of Lindholmen into a top-of-the-line business park has a high environmentalprofile, it was only natural to continue collecting the waste with an automated underground system from Envac, just as in parts of Eriksberg that were renovated at an earlier stage.
