It took more than nine years of discussions and planning before the residents at Lipkesgaarden could throw the first garbage bag in the Envac system.

In "Lipkesgaarden" ten owners and cooperative housing associations share the courtyard and the vacuum system.

The system collects the waste from 188 apartments.

It is buried under the courtyard. To save space in the buildings, two large plastic tanks have been installed underground. The waste storage tanks are placed inside.

The tanks are connected to a transportation pipe and a docking point in the sidewalk of Nordborggade.
