The order has been received in collaboration with Envac's Finnish partner YIT.
The Storåker (Suurpelto in Finnish) project, which includes plans for up to 5,000 homes and a business park with thousands of workplaces, has taken its inspiration from Hammarby Sjöstad in its choice of technical solutions.
In addition to homes and offices, there are also plans to build a school and commercial services. Envac's system is designed to handle three separate waste fractions: organic food waste, newspaper/waste paper and mixed waste. The construction project, which began in the spring 2009, is scheduled for completion in 10 years.
The area is approximately 500,000 square metres in size.
Envac has since 2004 an exclusive partnership with Caverion (a former part of YIT) in Finland.
