Envac provides this high-end residential development with safe, efficient and clean waste collection. The organic waste is source separated, composted onsite and then used to enhance the soils within the landscaped areas of the development. A first of its kind for Envac

Envac collects 3 tons of waste per day from 477 apartments.  Tenants’ source-separate their waste into a dry and a wet fraction and deposit each fraction into the correct waste inlet on their floor. The waste then falls, under gravity, onto the Envac discharge valve.

Once the waste builds up to a specific level the Envac system is turned on, the discharge valves open and the waste is sucked to the onsite collection station where it is stored in two specially design containers.

The dry waste container is collected once a week and hauled away for recycling. On a daily basis the wet waste is removed from the container and manually sorted before being fed into a composting machine for 24 hours of treatment. The organic material is then stored in crates and matured for up to 4 weeks before it is then used as a soil fertilizer within the landscaped gardens of the development.
