The most significant detail of this Envac system are the solar panels on the spectacular roof of the waste collection station building.
The waste collection station is installed in a park with a panoramic view over the nearby mountains. The waste collection system, operated by Envac since the start-up in early 2009, serves 4.700 dwellings.
It is the second Envac system in Alcobendas, and one of the main urban developments in the city located close to Madrid.
The first automated waste collection system in the city, Valdespartera, is designed in a similar way with solar panels covering the roof.
