Monte del Pilar neightbourghood is a residential area located beside a protected natural park with the same name in Majadahonda, a city close to Madrid.

Looking for the minimum impact in the Monte del Pilar area the terminal station is hidden below a traffic circle, invisible if you don't know it is there. A clever solution to save urban space and at the same time keeping heavy traffic to the outskirts of the residential area. The terminal is unknown by the residents around.

The system, operated by Envac since its start up in October 2004, collects more than 12 tons/day of the waste produced by 4.350 dwellings in two different fractions, recyclables and rest.

Inlets nets and out door inlets drive the refuse to the underground terminal station equiped with two cyclones, a bridge crane and four containers. This is a very special terminal station situated below a traffic circle to save urban space and go unnotice by the citizens.

This residential and peaceful area has lately incorporated a commercial area with little shops that also place their refuse in the pneumatic system.

Monte del Pilar is the fourth instalation of Majadahonda, a city with more than 50.000 inhabitants located close to Madrid.  Today Majadahonda has 5 systems that collect the 70%  of the city waste.
