Yongin Suji

In Gyeonggi-Do, Yongin City, a regional decision has been taken stating that all new building projects involving more than 700 apartments must have a vacuum waste collection system for the waste handling.

The decision is part of a development program to create a greener city. The ambition is that 30 percent of the area of city should be a green belt.

An Envac vacuum waste system that is largely hidden underground makes it possible to eliminate many problems such as the movement of noisy refuse trucks between buildings and unpleasant odours from refuse containers. Envac's vacuum-based waste collection system has been in service in Yongin Suji since January 2000.

Due to strong request from neighboringhood area, we had 1st extenstion in the year 2003 and 2nd extension in the year 2005.

After completing all extensions, 14,000 households are connected to the system. Specially, the connection station is combined with the incineration facility and thanks to this perfect combination of two facilities, final use of waste is providing both  heating and energy for the residential people. That includes apartments, schools and offices.
