JTC Biopolis

Developed by Jurong Town Corporation (JTC), Biopolis is a purpose-built biomedical R&D hub at one-north. One-north is a 200-hectare development located next to Singapore's acclaimed Science Parks and close to the National University of Singapore (NUS), the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore Polytechnic and Holland Village.

These communities mutually benefit from the core development of one-north. Here, collaborations with NUS and NUH are complemented with one-north’s work, research, entertainment and recreation facilities. It will house key public research institutes and private research organizations in an area of 185,000 sqm. Phase 1 of The Biopolis comprises a cluster of seven buildings which are linked by skybridges.

The vacuum waste collection system installed in JTC Biopolis has 8 inlets or collection points linked together by steel pipes that transport the waste to the central collection station. The system helps to save manpower, creates a clean image, provides for good waste management and greatly enhances the environment at Biopolis.
