Essinge Udde

Essinge Udde, an inner suburb of Stockholm. It was built to house 900 flats. The construction, was commenced in the second half of 2000 and was completed in 2005. Since space was scarce for this project an Envac Mobile System was chosen for the handling of household waste. Situated along Lake Mälaren, the buildings can be seen from the Envac Head Office. Special waste rooms were installed on the ground level in each building. Each waste room is equiped with containers for the waste to be recycled and with inlets for the combustible waste fraction. The storage tanks for combustible waste are underneath the inlets. These storage tanks are conncected to two docking points on the perimeter of the area, where waste is collected once a week with a suction truck.
