Bright Green Expo takes place at the Forum in central Copenhagen, Denmark, on 12-13 December 2009, in parallel with the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15). Welcome to visit Envac in the Swedish stand, SymbioCity – Sustainability by Sweden (stand 42), and see how to put into practice a holistic approach for sustainable urban development.

Since 1990 Swedish CO2 emissions have been reduced by 9% while the economy has grown by 44 %. This shows that it is possible to combine economic growth with an improved environment.

To share best-practice and knowledge to the Swedish approach to sustainability, the concept and trademark “SymbioCity” was launched in 2008. The key to success for the SymbioCity concept is to offer a more scalable model which may be adapted to different development levels of cities and towns as well as different planning situations.

Visitors to the Swedish stand will be introduced to a brand new game, the SymbioCity Scenarios – that will guide the players through the creation of sustainable societies. The target group is international mayors, urban planners and others with interest in understanding and learning from the Swedish example.
