Envac can now supply automated systems for emptying litter bins in public areas. The constant problems with littering due to over-full bins in parks, city centres or at sports arenas will disappear, along with the risk of pests and bad smells.
Littering and over-full bins are a constant source of irritation in areas where lots of people are present in a small area; in city parks where people consume lots of food and drink, at major sporting events where litter bins are filled rapidly over a short time, or on popular routes for walks in cities. Frequently emptying litter bins costs a lot of money. Moreover, it is often difficult for waste collection operatives to get to where they need to be, and these pickups disturb visitors. These problems are no more with an automated vacuum system for emptying litter bins in public areas.
This is how it works
Users discard their waste as usual in litter bins. These bins are directly connected to a horizontal pipe below ground. This uses a vacuum to suck out the waste to a collection station or to what are known as screw tanks located outside the area.
There are two types of automated vacuum system for emptying bins:
1) Stationary system – as in the illustration above
In the stationary system, the waste is sucked out into a container in a collection station positioned in a suitable location on the periphery of the area. A valve is used to regulate the emptying of all litter bins connected to the pipe. The bins are then emptied either automatically when they are full, or at regular intervals.
2) Mobile hybrid
With the hybrid system, the waste is first sucked out into closed screw tanks which can be located underground. These screw tanks are linked with docking points from which a vacuum truck can then empty the tanks as required. These docking points are positioned in such a way as to ensure that the vacuum truck picking up the waste does not have to drive into gardens, parks or narrow streets.
Added value
The Envac solution is a long-term investment offering both financial and environmental advantages. It makes areas considerably cleaner while at the same time adding other value.
No need for refuse collection trucks
As there is no need for manual emptying, there is no longer any need for heavy waste collection trucks in the area. Working hours for waste collection are freed up, while visitors avoid having to see disruptive, heavy traffic.
Suitable for events
At sports arenas, where litter bins fill up quickly over a short time, the system – with its high capacity and automatic emptying when the bins are full – is ideal.
Better hygiene
Hygiene is improved considerably, both for people in the area and for waste collection operatives. And as the system is hermetically sealed, the waste will not attract pests or insects or release unpleasant odours.
Smaller, nicer inlets
No large containers are needed for the Envac vacuum system, despite its enormous capacity. A small container can hold just as much waste – or even more – than an ordinary large container.
Lower operation and maintenance costs
The cost of the investment is compensated for thanks to considerably lower operation and maintenance costs. Contact us for a calculation of how much you could save.
