Roosevelt Island



The Roosevelt Island Operation Corporation of the State of New York, more commonly reffered to as RIOC, was created by the New York State Legislatue in 1984. Its mandate is to manage, develop and operate the 147 acre Roosevelt Island. RIOC is located in New York City´s East River, in the borough of Manhattan.

RIOC has promoted the development of a mixed-use, residential and commercial community that is home to more than 8,000 residents. The island contains over 3000 housing units, six historic landmarks, five spacious parks, several sports facilities and spectacular views of Manhattan.
