Strömkajen – System inauguration

Envac, proud system supplier, is arranging the inauguration ceremony at Strömkajen on Wednesday morning at 10.15 AM, on the quay in front of the Grand Hotel at Blasieholmen in Stockholm.

The automated waste and litter collection system is owned by Stockholms Hamnar and the ribbon will be cut by Ulla Hamilton (M), Vice Mayor of Stockholm.

The system consists of:

  • 5 waste inlets for commerical waste from the archipelago boats
  • 3 indoor waste inlets in Grand Hotell
  • 1 indoor waste inlet in Bolinderska Palatset

When complete the system will have a capacity of handling 50 tons of waste per week

At the moment Envac is installing self-emptying litterbins in Henriksdalshamnen (Hammarby Sjöstad), Norra Djurgårdsstaden, Barkarbystaden and in Bergen, Norway.

Since earlier there are self-emptying litterbins in operation at Mariatorget (Stockholm), Kvillebäcken in Gothenburg, Nissastrand in Halmstad, Nyhavn and Odense Havn in Denmark and in Almere in Holland.
