This is Olivia

Olivia Hansson is one of Envac Swedens accountants, based in our Gothenburg office. Right now she is working on the implementation of our new ERP system, where her focus recently has been project management of a new invoice system that will go live at the same time. Her daily work includes making payments, ongoing accounting, coordination, invoicing and contact with suppliers regarding finance-related issues.

It almost feels a bit like an extra family in some way. After all, we spend a lot of time with each other so it’s important that you have people around you who give you energy and joy. If I have a bad day, at the end of the day I still leave the office with a smile on my face. I feel seen, heard and very much appreciated.

Olivia just turned 28 and lives in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 2019 she moved to Karlstad to study at Karlstad University where she acquired her Economics bachelor’s degree in business administration. She also took classes in English for economists, Business English, Project management, marketing and Law. In her spare time, she likes spending time with family and friends, but also working out. About a year ago she discovered cross-country skiing, but she also enjoys running and taking long walks along the water where she lives.

When close to graduation, she was contacted by a recruiter who was looking for an accountant assistant for Envac Sweden. Olivia lives in Eriksberg, an area of Gothenburg that has one of the country’s largest pneumatic waste facilities (and soon to be one of Swedens largest ReFlow areas) and therefore she knew about the company already. At the first interview, it felt right! At Envac, Olivia feels there are many opportunities to develop on all levels and she praises the atmosphere in the office which is very warm and welcoming. Olivia has now been with us for one and a half year.

Two years ago, I could never have imagined in my wildest imagination that I would have all these opportunities and experiences in such a short time. My closest team has really believed in me since the start and their support means so much.
Detective work and colleagues

A big part of why she loves working at Envac is because of the colleagues – the people she works alongside every day. Through Envac, she has gained many great relationships and she is very grateful for the challenges and opportunities Envac has created for her in such a short time.

She enjoys her work but especially likes when the tasks involve a little detective work. Something she also found to be very fun is writing manuals, in both Swedish and English. To her, it’s extra fun when she knows that the manuals will be used by so many others, both in Sweden but also in other countries, which requires her to be accurate, clear and structured.

In terms of work, she is looking forward to going live with ERP and continuing to develop career-wise. On a personal level, she is looking forward to seeing Taylor Swift in Stockholm in May and also hopes to have time to train more this year to finish a “Swedish classic” eventually.

Of course, you have days when you just want everything to flow, but it’s when you run into problems that you get the chance to actually learn. After all, I’m a bit in the starting phase of my career and of course want to feel safe and experienced in my field.

Olivia is an embodiment of Envacs core values, and they are always a part of her daily work. For her, collaboration is an important cornerstone. Not only within the immediate team, but also with other departments. When she needs help and support, she asks her colleagues, regardless of department. “We all have different skills, and with each other’s help we can achieve so much together. “

For her, commitment means that you are committed to your work and feel a strong connection to the company’s goals and values. She feels that Envac as an employer is very generous and sees opportunities instead of problems. When she gets encouragement and appreciation, it makes her feel even more committed to her work in the form of her taking more initiative and rarely turning down a challenge. “For me, it is important that things go well for Envac and that we work together to reach our goals.”

Lastly, respect is one of the fundamental principles that creates a healthy and positive work environment. We all have different positions, backgrounds and opinions, but of course should still be appreciated, respected and treated equally. Sometimes we think differently, but we can still work together. “Valuing colleagues and their time is an important aspect of mutual respect.”
