About Almere
In Almere, in the Netherlands, Envac operates and maintains one of the Netherlands’ most comprehensive automated waste collection systems under an O&M contract. This means we are responsible not only for daily operation and routine maintenance, but also for scheduled multi‑year replacement of key components. The result is predictable lifecycle costs and consistently high performance over time.
A complete three fraction Envac 500 system
The Almere installation is a three‑fraction Envac 500 system serving a large number of residential and commercial users. The system includes:
3 fractions collected: general waste + PMD, GFT, paper
2 cyclones with integrated waste compactors
1 F‑container for efficient storage and truck loading
8 sectioning valves enabling flexible operation and future extensions
Over 200 inlets distributed over 80 inlet locations
Integrated Litterbin 300 solution
In addition, a Litterbin 300 system is connected to the same infrastructure, creating a complete solution for both household waste and public area litter. This part of the installation consists of:
80+ self‑emptying litterbins in public spaces
Together, the systems provide a cleaner urban environment with fewer collection trucks, less noise and lower emissions, both in residential areas and in public realms.
O&M – a true lifecycle partnership
In Almere, the client has chosen an O&M model where Envac assumes total responsibility for
Continuous monitoring and optimisation of system performance
Preventive and corrective maintenance
Planned multi‑year replacement of critical components to extend system life
Proactive upgrades and adjustments as the area develops
This gives the city a long‑term, future‑proof solution where availability, energy efficiency and capacity are secured over the full lifecycle – without unexpected cost peaks
Built for future expansion
The system in Almere is continuously expanding with new inlet locations as the city grows. Its modular design, combined with Envac’s O&M commitment, makes it easy to connect new districts and users while operations and maintenance are handled by an experienced Envac O&M team.
Brunnshög offers four waste fractions via pneumatic waste collection, with the aim that no more than 50 metres is needed to reach a waste inlet from the entrances. In addition, there is property-close collection within approximately 200–300 metres of each property.
Nestled in the stunning natural beauty of Norway, the city of Trondheim seamlessly blends cultural richness and architectural elegance. Trondheim’s commitment to sustainability is exemplified by its innovative waste management solutions.
