Envac is excited to announce the signing of a significant contract for a major pipe installation project in Odense, marking a strong start to 2025. The project, centred around the Dronningesgade district, will expand the existing pneumatic waste collection system in Odense’s city centre, enhancing the city’s sustainability by reducing transport within the urban area.
If all plastic packaging in Stockholm households were sorted correctly, residents could cut carbon dioxide emissions by 40,000 tonnes annually. This is equivalent to half of the fossil-based emissions generated by household waste. Now, an innovative project in Hammarby Sjöstad is demonstrating how this can become a reality.
The pneumatic system by Envac consists of an initial network of over 500 metres of underground pipes through which the waste is transported from the source, with inlets spread inside the terminal, to the waste collection station. The total investment of the system is over 2.1 million euros.
