Kunshan Eastern Medical Center is a large-scale medical facility located at Kunshan Development Zone. The project covers an area of 137,000 square meters. It includes various departments such as outpatient medical technology, a ward with 2000 beds, a scientific research and teaching office, an infectious disease, and a logistics centre. The hospital has a total construction area of 237,253 square meters, with 169,967 square meters above ground and 67,285 square meters underground. The main objective of Kunshan Eastern Medical Center is to establish a comprehensive tertiary hospital that focuses on medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, and more. The centre aims to become a diagnosis and treatment care facility with specialised characteristics to provide high-quality medical services to patients.
5 tonnes/day general waste & 3 tonnes/day (20 cubic meters/ day) soiled linen collected
pipe network, 1,150 meters for general waste & 630 meters for soiled linen
61 inlets for general waste & 54 inlets for soiled linen
running round the clock to facilitate the load of waste at all times
The Kunshan Eastern Medical Center integrates Envac’s automated waste collection system within its complex infrastructure, which features squares, gardens, and underground networks. Installing the pipe network involved navigating basement ceilings, pipe wells, underground burial, and river crossings to ensure seamless waste transfer.
With 60+ years of expertise, Envac customised the system to meet the hospital’s operational and spatial needs, optimising waste and linen management. Following successful trials, the system was officially launched in April 2023.
As Phase Two progressed in late 2023, Envac expanded its cutting-edge waste solutions, further improving efficiency and sustainability in healthcare environments.
The Envac service team, equipped with professional technology and reliable communication skills, collaborates excellently to ensure the smooth implementation of the hospital waste collection system in various stages of design, construction and adjustment. This guarantees a hassle-free launch of the system, alleviating the logistic pressure faced by the hospital and heightening the refinement of hospital logistics management to a whole new level.

The automatic waste collection system has become an essential component in the modernisation of hospital waste management, supporting the development of environmentally responsible, “zero-pollution” healthcare facilities for the future.
Healthcare Stockholm, Sweden
Flexible healthcare facilities for modern, high-quality care are centrally located in Stockholm. By integrating an advanced waste collection system, the hospital ensures a cleaner and more efficient environment for patients and staff.
Healthcare Trondheim, Norway
One of the most notable measures adopted by the hospital is the installation of Envac’s automatic waste collection system. The system is designed to collect four different waste streams: paper, confidential paper, residual, and plastic.
Healthcare Helsinki, Finland
Envac Finland has introduced an enhanced waste disposal system at The Bridge Hospital, which has resulted in improved safety and efficiency. The system covers general waste, soiled linen vertical shafts, and automated platform conveyors on every floor, reducing the need for staff and patients to transport waste through hallways and elevators.
